Anything you could say about the impact and importance of the television show Star Trek has been said.  We all know what it is, how it started in 1966 and ran for two seasons, and then was rescued by a concerted fan effort led by Bjo Trimble and ran a third season before NBC finally cancelled it – and how it has inspired generations of scientists, inventors, and creative people from all walks of life.

Star Trek has inspired everything from cell phones, to tablet computing, to advances in medicine,  electronics, and space travel.  We have seen its hopeful view of the future, and we have tried to make it our future by building it one piece at a time.  There’s still a lot to learn from Star Trek – what wonders may come?

Today is the Star Trek’s 46th Anniversary.  We’d like to wish creator Gene Roddenberry’s vision of the future a happy birthday.
