It’s essentially Mortal Combat with capes. While the gameplay is comfortable and familiar, what really sets it apart is the storyline. What some don’t realize, though, is that the attempt to put a story in the game isn’t just a wave and a nod – there is a whole feature length motion picture layered into the fight scenes. It could take you a long time to see the whole movie, and you’d have to be good enough at the game to get through the whole thing.
Fortunately for the twitch-impaired among us, VideoGameTrailers has posted an edit of all the cut scenes in the game cut together. It makes 120 minutes runtime, and skipping through it, it actually looks like it should be worth spending a couple of hours to watch.
