Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford light up the screen in the new Blade Runner 2049 trailer. This is the first full official trailer, and the world becomes much more solid and present. Distinctly Vangelis-flavored musical themes weave through the rich visuals of this bleak, post-exodus ruined Earth. The scenes move smoothly from grit to velvet and back again. Ryan Gosling is LAPD Officer K, a Blade Runner, looking for answers to questions unstated. He doesn’t have to look for trouble. It finds him.
This new installment in the Blade Runner saga explores the role of replicants in human society, living machines with artificially implanted memories and experiences who fill the roles humans don’t want or can’t do. The future of the species is at stake, and if the truth is uncovered, it breaks the world.
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
From executive producer, Ridley Scott and director Denis Villeneuve, Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana De Armas, MacKenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto.
It releases in the United States on October 6, 2017.
