There is only one word that can be used to describe the experience of watching Avengers: Infinity War, and that word is “wow!” It’s yet another full on ride from start to finish from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It begins right where Thor: Ragnarok left off. So if you have not watched that movie yet, or even if you have, it would be advisable to watch it before going to the new Avengers movie. The start of the movie we find out what happens to the Asgard refugees, as well as Loki and Thor. Then the wild adventure begins, with the intersecting of so many characters from 19 movies and counting that it can be fun trying to find them all. Tissues, however, would be handy for watching this movie, as not everyone survives.

It’s taken 10 years to lead to this place. The start of the Infinity War that has been hinted at from the very beginning. With occasionally seen characters and gems threading their way through the stories. The stones have each appeared in the movies barring one. This does get addressed.

The ending is quite shocking, and definitely not your normal Disney ending. However it is not as shocking when you are aware that this is Part 1 of a two part story. Marvel did announce this would be a two part story several years ago, but early 2016 suddenly ‘forgot’ that idea and has acted as though this one is the only one planned. The as yet unnamed Avengers movie finished filming in January of this year and is in post production already. However after this movie, we’re unsure what else could possibly happen. Word to the wise, keep an eye out for one other Marvel movie which will be released shortly beforehand in March 2019.

If you have been a Marvel fan at all in the last decade, if you have enjoyed the movies, this is one you need to see in a cinema in full screen glory.

There is only one cut scene in the credits, but it is worth the wait. Enjoy the ride.
