Get ready to jump into an X-wing and blow something up, because we’ve finally got some more scraps of news about Star Wars Resistance, including some plot details about the show’s pilot episode

In the wake of San Diego Comic-Con, where series creator Dave Filoni announced to fans that Star Wars: The Clone Wars would return next year, it’s easy to forget that we’re mere months away from an all-new animated Star Wars adventure set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. While Lucasfilm has been strangely silent since announcing the series in April, German entertainment news site TV-Wunschliste has some details.

The series’ German debut will air on Disney XD on October 13. This aligns with an announcement at a Disney France marketing event earlier this year that the series would begin in October there as well. The initial press release from Lucasfilm detailed a release schedule with the series coming to Disney Channel in the United States before an international release on Disney XD, so it is possible we could see the series released domestically as early as September.

TV-Wunschliste goes on to provide a plot summary for the first episode, a double-header entitled, “The Recruit,” which takes place shortly before The Force Awakens, placing Resistance further along in the timeline than I had initially speculated in April. Translated from German, the summary reads:

Resistance fighter Poe Dameron orders young pilot Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono to spy on First Order. Little is known about the mysterious organization and its strength at the time.

To fulfill his mission, Kaz travels to the space platform Colossus. The station is used by many ships for refueling and repairs, but there are also dangerous races. After Kaz brags about his flying skills on arrival, he is soon drawn into one of the races…

BB-8 will feature heavily in Star Wars Resistance, while Poe Dameron will play a supporting role to new hero Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono.

As Dave Filoni said in the series announcement press release, “There’s a long history of high-speed racing in Star Wars, and I think we’ve captured that sense of excitement in an anime-inspired style, which is something the entire team has been wanting to do for a long time.” I had assumed he simply meant high-speed dogfights, but it would seem actual racing will play a large part in Resistance. As all-out war between the Resistance and the First Order does not begin until the unleashing of Starkiller Base in The Force Awakens, this series will likely feature less combat than its predecessors, but is unlikely to be short on action and thrills.

Star Wars Resistance airs this fall. The series was created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars); executive-produced by Athena Portillo (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Justin Ridge (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) and Brandon Auman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles); and art-directed by Amy Beth Christenson (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels). The series guest-stars Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron and Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, both of Star Wars feature fame. They are joined by the regular series cast, including Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (East Enders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales), Jim Rash (Community), and Rachel Butera (Tammy’s Tiny Tea Time).
