Holocaust Survivor Shares Story
Sometimes a story can’t be summarized or drawn by a person outside of the scope of events.
The Holocaust is something nearly unspeakable; words and emotions are ill-defined by many except those who were there at the time. Fanny Starr, Holocaust survivor, endured six years of hell and living in deplorable conditions, saw her liberation day come on April 15, 1945 when the British Army liberated Bergen Belsen concentration camp.
This event marked Ms. Starr’s third appearance in Second life to speak on the subject. Pooky Amsterdam, who conducted the interview, provided full video coverage of the talk to capture it for the sake of history.
The Justice League Unlimited (JLU) worked to keep the event safe so Fanny could speak to Second Life residents We encourage everyone to hear Fanny’s story as she tells it: http://www.pookymediafilms.com/2009/12/document-of-time-interview-with.html
About the Justice League Unlimited:
The Justice League Unlimited (JLU) in Second Life in (SL) is a public service organization who pattern their avatars after classic comic book heroes. While JLU members may model their avatars after these fictional personas, the JLU is not a super-hero role-playing group. The mission of the JLU is to provide mentoring and render aid to SL residents in need, primarily new residents, in such areas as building, scripting and security. The JLU often acts as a neighborhood watch organization, patrolling heavily trafficked public areas that are prone to abuse by griefers. We also hold seminars and conventions on public safety, and help estate managers learn effective techniques for keeping their own lands safe.
