Earth becomes the focal point of a cosmic prophecy foretelling the end of days for anybody who speaks Latin who are friendly but incomprehensible even though they smell really bad who derive their sustainance by the army, navy, air force, space force and/or marines but one cunning young man somehow convinces them that people are okay and they form a rock band and tour the galaxy, becoming interstellar celebrities.
