DC Comics may be having to work hard to keep up with Marvel in the theaters, but as far as home video is concerned, Warner Home Video keeps knocking out great animated movies! Today’s First Look video is of the new Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. In it, the Flash is chasing Mirror Master, passes through some kind of dimensional barrier and wakes up without his powers! Something’s happened, and it’s not good.
It’s all because the Flash is tempted by the ability to go back into the past and right a wrong for himself and his family – but the fixing this has unintended consequences, creating a fractured, alternate reality where the Justice League never formed, and Superman is nowhere to be found. Amidst a new world being ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman’s Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans, Flash must team with a grittier, more violent Batman and government agent Cyborg to restore the continuity of Flash’s original timeline.
It’s an adaptation of the 2011 comic book crossover “Flashpoint” by Geoff Johns. It is directed by Jay Oliva and scripted by Jim Krieg. Ron Perlman and Dana Delany reprise their roles as Deathstroke and Lois Lane, and it is the 17th film in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series.
As usual with Warner Home Video direct to disk Justice League films, we keep throwing money at the screen and nothing happens. We hope they fix this aspect soon.
