Warner Brothers announced to Comic-Con attendees that a Superman/Batman team-up will indeed make it to the big screen. Man of Steel director Zack Snyder, at a WB panel at SDCC, publicly confirmed that he would be directing a Superman/Batman team-up movie. Snyder also said the film would be inspired by, but not a direct adaptation of, Frank Miller”s The Dark Knight Returns. Other sources at Warner Brothers, who are said to have direct knowledge of the film, say that it will be a direct follow-up to Man of Steel. The source has also hinted that Henry Cavill will return as the Last Son of Krypton and David S. Goyer will return with the scriptwriting duties.
It is speculated but unconfirmed that Christopher Nolan will return as producer. It is not expected, however, that Christian Bale will reprise his role as the Dark Knight.
