An Intro Reimagined for Skyrim from Brady Wold on Vimeo

The Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim is arguably the most successful RPG on the entire planet at the moment, and Game of Thrones the most successful expression of sword and sorcery fantasy in other mediums. A conceptual mashup of the two seems only natural.

The popular game from Bethesda and the books by George R.R. Martin, translated into the cable series, have a common theme: a struggle for power and possession of the throne from which all the lands might be ruled.  There’s already a lot of common ground.

Brady Wold started on this project two years ago, just as a way to blow off some steam and have a little fun. He wasn’t really thinking about actually finishing it, but he kep working on it in between other projects until it became clear to him that it was something that had its own destiny and that he needed to bring it to completion. Thousands of hours of work and rendering later, it’s finally done. Ramin Djawadi’s inspiring theme from Game of Thrones provides the foundation.  Brady used a wide variety of software to make it happen, including After Effects, Cinema 4D, Maya, Photoshop, Premiere, and ZBrush.

The result is an inspiration to behold.

Enjoy.
