Phoenix Comicon is in full swing now! Yesterday was check-in day, so we got a chance to check out the venue and meet some of our fellow con-goers. Even making our way in from the parking lot was quite an experience: zombie assault vehicles and monster trucks galore! Apparently, someone left the gate open on the zombie cage. They were wandering all over, and nowhere to be found when it was time for the zombie obstacle course!
Today will be a busy day. We’ll be checking out a cosplay prop crafting panel, and one on Hayao Miyazaki’s worlds, a spotlight session on Mark Sheppard, and the steampunk ball! We’ll be checking in live on the air with DJ Gary Da Baum tonight, so be sure to tune in from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

- Love transcends fandom (and escalators). Found this cute couple on their way to the dealers’ hall.
- Arizona-based sisters set up a mermaid pool and showed off their design skills all day. I bet they were happy to be in the water in the 104 degree weather!
- Lots of promotion for the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction movie (out June 27)
