It’s done by a rather unique geek merchandising company called Loot Crate. Okay, yes, it was probably made to catch the eye of big media outlets so that they’d make a big deal out of it and promote the video on their web sites.
And of course, here at SCIFI.radio we’re geeks like you sooo, yeah, it did actually work on us. Well played, Loot Crate. But seriously, we think you’ll really like this.
The Verse was written for fans and by fans who are inspired by the beloved cult sci-fi series Firefly. There were two directions they could have gone with this. They could have tried to slavishly recreate Firefly, or they could create their own characters and place them in the same universe. They chose the latter, and we think it was a good solid move. The Verse gives us an exciting new look at this beloved world featuring a new crew, a new ship and a heaping dose of misbehavin’. We think it will appeal to Browncoats everywhere.
