Welcome to the breathlessly anticipated October lineup of great small screen entertainment! I would only try outrunning Barry to be first in line for adult trick-or-treating, and make sure Constantine checks my bag for demons hiding amidst the candy! Oliver Queen can be our bodyguard as we brave the darkened city streets, we can make a (brief please) stop at the Freakshow, and Sherlock Holmes will of course know the best way to avoid those ever-present zombies!
When: Tuesday, October 7, 8:00 p.m./7:00 p.m., Central
What IS it: The next installment of DC superheroes taking over the small screen!
Why YOU should catch the red blur: Barry Allen is a really real superhero, and let’s face it, he’s a lot more cheerful than Oliver Queen!
American Horror Story: Freakshow
When: Wednesday, October 8, 10:00 p.m., Eastern/Pacific
What IS it: The latest installment of AHS, guaranteed to give you nightmares this time!
Come play with the freaks: AHS is always a rockin’ good time, and this next chapter promises to be a scream that far outlasts the show itself!
When: Wednesday, October 8, 8:00 p.m. Eastern/Pacific
What IS it: The return of our beloved green-clad archer and savior of Starling City!
Pierced through the heart: Ollie is back to battle new villains, hood some new allies, and maybe even find a new love interest!
The Walking Dead
When: Sunday, October 12, 9:00 p.m. Eastern/Pacific
What IS it: Our beloved, if ragged, band of survivors are back to battle zombies and other villains too!
The walkers are back: When last we left our heroes, they had made it to Terminus, only to find it’s hardly a safe zone. What will happen to Rick and the gang now?!
When: Friday, October 24, 10:00 p.m., Eastern/Pacific
What IS it: Another DC Hero, if you can call him that, storms the small screen to fight off demons!
Begone you demons: This version of Constantine, as opposed to the film with Keanu Reeves, is supposed to be much closer to the DC Comics, and is therefore no bad thing!
When: Friday, October 24, 9:00 p.m., Eastern/Pacific
What IS it: Nick and his shapeshifting pals are back, with supernatural mysteries expanding beyond Portland!
Grab your keys: Armed with a new Grimm-in-training, Nick has to contend with a whole new series of Wesen troubles and the loss of his own powers!
When: Thursday, October 30, 10:00 p.m., Eastern/Pacific
What IS it: Johnny Lee Miller is a very different Sherlock Holmes, with Lucy Liu as his Watson, in New York City!
Welcome back, Watson: Rumor has it this season begins with Watson having finally asserted her independence, and Holmes replacing her with a brand new assistant!
May your days be filled with Krypton Radio’s Days of Darkness, and your nights be overflowing with great television! What new fall show are you most droolingly anticipating? Sound off in the comments!
