LEGO always has some special treats for attendees of the massive San Diego Comic-Con, and this year is no exception. LEGO unveiled a retro Superman set recreating the iconic 1938 Joe Shuster cover for Action Comics #1, the first appearance of Superman anywhere. The set includes a minifigure of Superman, a green automobile for him to hold aloft, and a diorama with wall to smack the car into. The only thing missing is the bewildered civilians. It’s a pretty good likeness of the cover art at that scale.
The set is called “Action Comics #1 Superman™”, has an age range of 8-14, contains 145 pieces, and retails for $39.99. However, you can’t just walk up to the LEGO booth at SDCC and buy this bad boy, or any of the other exclusive sets. Reprinted below are the directions to purchasing this nifty item.
