Marvel Studios and ABC have released a new clip from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The nearly-five-minute opening sequence to Season Three. The clip debuted at IGN, and as of the moment this is the only source of the video. It hasn’t been posted to YouTube yet, so we’re embedding their video directly.
Before you watch the clip, pause the Krypton Radio music stream so you can hear the soundtrack in the clip itself. Use the handy controller to the upper right.
In this clip, there’s trouble in what looks like Manhattan. A man has suddenly manifested the ability to alter the state of whatever metal he touches, and he can’t control it. Things blow up. A lot. He’s naturally terrified, and a S.H.I.E.L.D. team, led by Chloe Bennet as a fully powered Quake, a.k.a. Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Agent Skye, manages to extract him without him accidentally disintegrating his own rescue vehicle. Somebody else is out there trying to grab metahumans as well. Who are they? We’re pretty sure that would by Hydra, but we can’t know for sure until the episode airs.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 will see a whole new wave of Inhumans popping up around the globe, and Quake tasked with recruiting them into her team of Secret Warriors. Chloe Bennet rocks the new look, by the way.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 premieres September 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
Oh, and you can turn the music back on now.
