Gifted animator Paul Johnson decided to ask the question, “What would Star Wars look like if it were animated in the style of the crazy detailed anime movies of the 1980’s? He then spent four years of his life answering that question. What you are about to see is all Paul’s work, except for the sound track itself, and the audio engineering and sound effects. It’s Empire-centric, and is an anime and Star Wars fan’s wet dream.
Watch and be amazed.
The music was done by Zak Rahman and sound design by Joseph Leyva. Fans of Lucasarts’ seminal 1994 TIE Fighter game may notice a few familiar sights and sounds.
This is so detailed and beautiful it’s almost exhausting to watch, and yet it doesn’t stop us from wishing there was a feature length film to go with it.
