We may have lost nearly every scrap of programming produced by the BBC on the American version of Netflix, but there’s still plenty of great stuff to see there. The new season of Daredevil is looking mighty fine.  In an odd spin, this is the trailer for the second season, but it’s only “Part 1”. We’ve never seen intentionally episodic trailers like this before, so this is a novel new approach.

Just when Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox) thinks he’s starting to get things under control in Hell’s Kitchen, new forces are rising. Now he must face a new adversary in Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher – and an old flame returns. Punisher is played by Jon Bernthal, who brings in his performance from “as dark a place as possible”.

Daredevil was smart and engaging from the very first episode of the first season, and with this new trailer for season 2, it’s very clearly hit stride. It doesn’t make up for losing Doctor Who, but it sure helps. The new series goes live on Netflix on March 18, and will be released all at once so you can binge watch it the way you did with the first season.

By the way, rumor has it that a Punisher spinoff is already in the works. If you’re keeping score, this would make Netflix’s sixth Marvel series, the first five being Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the upcoming series based on Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.
