Despite a landslide that blocked the road to the towns of Palinuro and Camerota yesterday, the Warner Bros. production crew were on the beach at Capo Grosso di Camerota this morning shooting scenes for the new Wonder Woman movie due out in theaters on June 23, 2017.
While they’re shooting, the area will be off limits. The Italian Coast Guard based in Palinuro will be keeping the waters clear of both professional and civilian craft. Nobody’s going to be swimming, diving or fishing within 300 meters of the live set. Since this is supposed to be taking place a few thousand years in the past (in the movies, Wonder Woman is meant to be five thousand years old) it wouldn’t do to have skiffs and sailboats touring by in the background.
Once they’re done on the beach, they’ll be moving to the towns of Archon and Ponticelle until April 23.
The Isreali actress Gal Gadot stars in the title role. The cast includes Robin Wright, and Chris Pine as Colonel Steve Trevor.
Wonder Woman makes her first on-screen appearance in Batman v Superman, which releases nationwide this Friday.
