When is a giant not a giant? When he’s midway between the world of giants and the world of men — or little girls. In this new trailer for Disney’s The BFG, based on the Roald Dahl book by the same name, a little girl from London named Sophie befriends a giant. He’s big, and frightening, but he’s not anywhere as big as the real giants who have no interest in “human beans” except as tasty treats. Though he’s a giant himself, he doesn’t share his brethren’s bloodlust. He and Sophie must work together to prevent a cataclysmic invasion of the human realm by these bloodthirsty creatures.

He collects dreams, good ones and bad ones. This be the story of a little girl.  There will be great adventures, and laughter. Times will be hard, times will be soft. So, no regrets, cross your fingers.

Here we go.

The BFG stars Ruby Barnhill as Sophie and Mark Rylance as the BFG. It’s directed by Steven Spielberg, and comes to the big screen on July 1, 2016.
