It’s 20 years after the events of the first Independence Day movie, and the aliens are back for another try at taking Earth. The Terrans have had that long to study and incorporate alien technology into their own military might and abilities, but will it be enough?

The humans may have been fooling themselves the entire time.

In this five minute long trailer (!!) we get to see a great deal of what this chaotic Earth looks like on the possible dawn of its extinction. The alien craft are bigger than some of our cities, big enough to have their own gravity substantial enough to start ripping up the Earth’s surface. Jeff Goldblum is back as David Levinson, Brent Spinder returns as Dr. Brakish Okrun, and there are many other familiar returning faces.

One of the more familiar returning faces is that of President Whitmore, played by Bill Pullman. In a scene in the above trailer, a captive alien uses President Whitmore as a talking meat puppet, allowing Levinson to interrogate it to learn as much as possible about the returning alien invasion force.

This movie just looks like a rollicking good time, and is just the kind of movie you’ll want to go see with your friends, being sure to hit that snack bar first. You’ll want a big tub of buttered popcorn and some bladder-buster sized soft drinks to go with your classic summer movie experience.

Independence Day: Resurgence hits the theaters on June 24, 2016.
