Over the past couple days at SDCC 2016, the TV division of Marvel Entertainment has revealed exciting and new teasers for their upcoming shows on Netflix and ABC.

Marvel’s Luke Cage – Season 1

Marvel and Netflix revealed the first official trailer for Luke Cage. Following the stellar introduction in Jessica Jones last year, Mike Colter (Salt, Zero Dark Thirty) returns as the title character to lead his own mission for justice in the streets of Harlem. Sweet Christmas, indeed. The entire first season will be available to binge watch on September 30.


Marvel’s Iron Fist – Season 1

The best friend and fellow Hero for Hire alongside Luke Cage, the first trailer for Iron Fist was also revealed during the Luke Cage panel. The series will star Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) as industrialist Danny Rand, who becomes the world’s greatest martial artist called Iron Fist. The series is set to premiere in 2017.

Marvel’s Daredevil – Season 3

Another surprise during the Luke Cage panel was a teaser officially confirming the third season of Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox (Stardust) as blind lawyer Matt Murdock who defends the gritty Hell’s Kitchen streets from the Kingpin. Last season he came at odds against the Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, who has been confirmed to be getting his own series at an unknown date. The Daredevil third season’s release date has not been confirmed as of yet.

Marvel’s ‘The Defenders‘- Season 1

The final surprise during the Luke Cage panel was the teaser for the team-up series The Defenders was also revealed. Set to release in 2017, the series will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage and Iron Fist against a common threat. The voice heard in the background belongs to Stick (Scott Glenn), who appeared in the first two seasons of Daredevil as his badass blind mentor.


Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Season 4

The Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel didn’t have any footage, due to filming only starting the day before. But, they did share a poster that confirmed speculation that the Spirit of Vengeance, the Ghost Rider, is coming to the show’s fourth season this fall on ABC. Actor Gabriel Luna (True Detective) has been confirmed to play Robbie Reyes, one of the most recent incarnations of Ghost Rider in the comics.

Finally, while no existing footage yet exists, a second season of Jessica Jones has been confirmed for Netflix in 2017.
