Disney Fans should be rejoicing, because our favorite rich treasure loving duck and crew are back in the Summer of 2017. They will be coming back on Disney XD as seen in the teaser below.

The new DuckTales will center on Scrooge McDuck, his nephew, Donald, and his grandnephews, Huey, Dewie, and Louie as they travel the world with the help of their trusty pilot, Launchpad McQuack. Also accompanying them on their adventures is Webbigail “Webby” Vanderquack, who did appear in the original series but wasn’t featured much. It seems that this time around, with gender equality at the forefront of social consciousness right now, Disney have decided that a female character is deserving of a place on the DuckTales team.

Other characters from the original series will be back, too. We can expect to see the return of Magica DeSpell, butler Duckworth, Glomgold, and the Beagle Boys when the show airs. DuckTales in it’s original run had 100 episodes over 4 seasons. The reboot’s first season will consist of 21 half-hour episodes and two one-hour specials, giving parents plenty of chance to introduce their kids to some Disney legends and to get their fill of nostalgia.

Here’s the original theme, in case you’d forgotten it.

The original series ran four years and produced 100 episodes, and holds a special place in animation history as being the very first series Disney every produced that was intended to go straight to syndication. Rob Renzetti, (My Life as a Teenage Robot) will serve as the Executive Producer, alongside Matt Youngberg, (Ben 10: Omniverse) as Producer, Francisco Angones, (Wander Over Yonder) as Story Editor and Co-Producer, and Sean Jimenez (Gravity Falls) as Art Director. Sadly, none of the original voice cast will be returning for the reboot, much to the disappointment of the producers.
