Undaunted by the recent CBS / Paramount crackdown on fan films, Star Trek Continues releases the eighth episode in their quest to complete the Five Year Mission. Released on April 2, 2017, the new episode is entitled Still Treads the Shadow. In it, the Enterprise discovers a lost starship … with an unlikely passenger.
Be sure to pause the Krypton Radio stream while you watch this – and, zoom the video to fill screen, and if you can, put it on the good speakers and turn out the lights while you watch it. This is Star Trek in its finest spirit in decades, and it is an experience to be savored.
Star Trek Continues is one of the most popular, best produced Star Trek fan series there is. Helmed by Vic Mignogna and a profoundly talented band of pro and semi-pro actors, writers, cinematographers, lighters, and of course the gifted prop, set and costume makers that bring all this classic Trek stuff back to life for the small screen. Despite the years of litigation between Axanar and the production companies that own the Star Trek franchise and the unavoidable fallout affecting most other fan productions, STC is apparently unscathed and unaffected.
It’s a good thing that’s the case, because to be honest, we think this is better Trek than the studios have been churning out for the past several years. This is the Star Trek we remember, and the universe we fell in love with in the first place.
