“You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy,” and now its future is secured.
Nestled between the storied TCL Chinese and Pantages Theatres in Hollywood, Calfornia, down a dodgy and unassuming alley, lies the Scum and Villany Cantina. Its presence is marked only by the number “94” stenciled on the wall outside, referencing Han Solo’s parking spot in the bustling port.  Once past the bouncer — and the droid scanners — and down a twisty and foggy stuccoed hallway, the path opens up into exactly the cantina you’d expect to find in Star Wars.
The Scum & Villainy Cantina was intended as a temporary experience.  It’s more experience than restaurant, a haven for science fiction fans to have a drink (Blue Milk, anyone?) and gather with our own kind.  Servers and staff wear costumes, and guests are encouraged to do likewise.  “Nestled in the black hole of Hollywood,” it is “an immersive environment where you drink, eat, and hang out as if you were in another galaxy.”
It’s proven so popular that it’s not only declaring its permanence, but expanding its hours too.

"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."

Bar owner J.C. Reifenberg said, “We had a simple concept from the start — to provide devoted fans, like myself, the opportunity to gather in an environment that would inspire and delight.”  J. C. and his crew are now pleased to be able to make the Scum & Villainy Cantina permanent.  They are expanding the cantina’s hours, adding to the menu, and discontinuing the need for tickets and reservations.
In addition to the longer hours and larger menu, the cantina will have weekly events such as bingo, trivia contests, and cosplay specials.  Digital jukeboxes will provide access to the sort of geeky music you might hear here on SCIFI.radio.
Under the old system, guests with reservations received a souvenir glass and coin.  For guests who already have Scum & Villainy Cantina coins, keep them!  Show your coin to the bartender for a ten percent discount on your bill.
The Scum & Villainy Cantina will be open Friday 8/04/2017 and Saturday 8/05/2017 from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am.  The following week they will be open Thursday 8/10/2017 to Sunday 8/13/2017 from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am.  Check out the cantina’s s official Facebook page for further information.

The cantina is located at 6377 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA, 90028.  The whole family is welcome, whether dressed as Han Solo,  Lt. Uhura, Loki, Wonder Woman, Dylan Hunt, Kaylee Frye, or coming incognito in mundane clothes.   Costumes are welcomed, but not required.   Guests 21 or older must have a valid ID to consume alcohol.
