The trailer for the much-anticipated, World Fantasy Award-nominated collaboration between Neil Gaiman and the late Sir Terry Pratchett is out, and it is delightful and exciting in every way it’s meant to be.

It’s a series based on Gaiman and Pratchett’s book Good Omens:
s: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, written in 1990 and well loved by all who’ve taken the time to reward themselves and read it. In the series, a demon named Crowley (played by David Tennant of Doctor Who fame) and an angel named Aziraphale (played by Michael Sheen , who starred in Masters of Sex) must join forces to prevent Armageddon – the End Times.

The Archangle Gabriel will be played by Jon Hamm (Mad Men), in a role written for him as an expansion on the book by Gaiman, who wrote the scripts for the series. “Once we had finished writing Good Omens, back in the dawn of prehistory, Terry Pratchett and I started plotting a sequel,” Gaiman explained to Radio Times. “There would have been a lot of angels in the sequel. When, almost thirty years later, I started writing Good Omens for TV, one thing I knew was that our angels would have to be in there.”

The show is a passion project for Gaiman, who wrote it in part to honor the memory of Terry Pratchett, who died in 2015.

Good Omens is expected to be a six episode series, and will debut on Amazon Video in 2019.
