Two years ago if you’d asked me to name the superhero team least likely to ever get a television series, I’d have said:

“Doom Patrol”.

Yet today, here we are. The new series makes its debut on the DC Universe streaming service on February 15, 2019. It’s a spinoff series from episode 4 of Titans, and it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.

The teaser – which has an adorable “awkward family photo” theme – gives us our first look at Joivan Wade as Cyborg, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, and Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder/The Chief. Matt Bomer’s Negative Man, Brendan Fraser’s Robotman, and April Bowlby’s Elasti-Woman made their debut in episode 4 of Titans.

Pause the Krypton Radio player at the top of the page while you watch (it may be at the bottom if you’re on a mobile device, go find it, come back here, play the video).

The song in the background is Tiny Tim’s rendition of Tiptoe Through the Tulips; the tone is light, and gives us a quick dash of character spice from each of the team members.

Per DC Universe, “The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part superhero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.”
