Co-presented by BAM and The Black Comics Collective
Comic book nerds, graphic novel aficionados, fantasy lovers, and all-around fans of the art form are invited to the BAM Black Comix Expo. This fun-filled day—co-presented by BAM and the Black Comics Collective—is back for year two, celebrating comic writers, illustrators, and creators of color. Meet the next generation of black superheroes, hear a panel discussion about women and Afrofuturism, participate in a children’s art workshop, take part in a superhero cosplay showcase, and so much more.
The BAM Black Comix Expo demonstrates the demand for diversity and representation across sci-fi and fantasy genres by presenting a range of acclaimed independent comic writers and illustrators, as well as the freshest emerging talent.
All events are free and open to all ages, with the exception of the VR Experience (ages 9+).
The BAM Black Comix Expo takes place in multiple locations in the Peter Jay Sharp Building: LePercq Space, BAM Rose Cinemas, and the Natman Room. The Peter Jay Sharp Building is located at 30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY, 11217.
Please note: Admittance to the BAM Black Comix Expo is on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.
