Seth MacFarlane, Star/Creator Of “The Orville” To Receive Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Actor/producer Seth MacFarlane is scheduled to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Tuesday, April 23, 2019, MacFarlane will be honored with the 2,661st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star will be at 6259 Hollywood Boulevard in front of 33 Taps, a sports bar.

MacFarlane is the creator of the popular science fiction comedy-adventure The Orville. He also stars on the show as Captain Ed Mercer.

Prior to The Orville, MacFarlane created the cartoons Family Guy and American Dad. He also wrote the movie Ted as well as scripts for episodes for Dexter’s Laboratory, The Cleveland Show, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

He does a lot of character voice work as well. His is the voice of Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars: Detours, which is currently in post-production. He was also the voice of Mike the Mouse in the animated feature Sing, and provides voices for multiple characters on Family Guy and American Dad, including Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin, Stewie Griffin, Stan Smith, Roger the Alien, and Greg Corbin.

He also starred in, wrote, and directed the movie A Million Ways to Die in the West. MacFarlane is a 21st century Renaissance man: scriptwriter, producer, director, actor, lyricist, impressionist, singer, and philanthropist.

And of course, he sings as well. His debut album of swing standards Music is Better Than Words debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart in 2011 and went on to receive four Grammy nominations, including “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.” His 2014 Christmas set, Holiday for Swing, also debuted at No. 1. It was followed by No One Ever Tells You, another iTunes chart topper, and In Full Swing, his first No.1 Traditional Jazz album, garnering him two more Grammy nominations. MacFarlane is gearing up to release his fifth album Once In A While on April 26. This album is a collection of wistful, pensive songs that deal with longing, lost love and sadness infused with fond recollection and a hint of hope.

MacFarlane created The Seth MacFarlane Foundation to focus his charitable efforts.  Through his foundation, MacFarlane continues to be an avid supporter of science communication, cancer research, The Human Rights Campaign, Oceana, the People of the American Way, Chrysalis, Perry’s Place and National Public Radio (NPR). Last year, in support of NPR’s mission to create a more informed public and strengthen democracy, MacFarlane made a $2 million donation to NPR and a $500,000 donation to Los Angeles’ NPR membership station, KPCC, the top news distribution for NPR content in Southern California. ”
