The paranormal community has lost a legend.
Paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren has passed away at the age of 92. Her grandson Chris McKinnell confirmed her passing on Facebook this morning. “Last night my grandmother, Lorraine Warren, quietly and peacefully left us to join her beloved Ed,” he said. “She was happy and laughing until the very end. She was my angel and my hero, and she will be deeply missed.”
Lorraine and her husband Ed, who passed in 2006, were staples in the paranormal investigative community. Lorraine was a self- professed clairvoyant and light trance medium who claimed to have conducted over 10,000 paranormal investigations throughout her career. In 1952, she and Ed founded the New England Society for Psychic Research, and in the 1980’s they opened up the Occult Museum, which was a room in their home that housed many allegedly cursed objects they had collected throughout their investigations.
Lorraine became a household name after the famous and controversial Amityville haunting. Recently her story was being told through the movie series The Conjuring, which covered some of the Warren’s most famous cases like the Annabelle doll, the Enfield Poltergeist, and the Perron family.
While her career was not without controversy and skepticism, Lorraine Warren was a legend who helped improve the lives of many people. She will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Lorraine.
