Jim Henson’s Dark Crystal is a cult classic, reborn as a prequel called The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance coming to Netflix. Now at E3 2019, Nintendo has announced that a video game based on this new series is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game is called The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics.

If the gameplay looks familiar, though, it should. It’s not an open-world exploration game. It’s heavily inspired by isometric strategy and combat games Final Fantasy Tactics, and XCOM, but set in the Dark Crystal world of Thra. Reusing the tried and true game mechanics, this new game lets you play as a variety of characters from the Dark Crystal universe, pitting teams of Gelflings against the immortal Skeksis.

It’s a game designed and built by Created by BonusXP and En Masse Entertainment, the same people who built the tie-in game for Stranger Things. The series comes out August 30, and the game is supposed to be due for the Nintendo Switch sometime after that in 2019.
