Disney actor/dancer Cameron Boyce has died at the age of 20. He played Carlos, son of Cruella de Ville in the popular Descendants trilogy of films, as well as appearing in other Disney Channel projects.
He will be appearing in the TV show Paradise City, which is currently in post-production. He played Conor in Gamer’s Guide to Practically Everything. He played Luke Ross on Jessie and reprised the role on several other Disney Channel shows. He also played Keithie Feder. son of Adam Sandler’s character in Grownups and Grownups 2. He took over the role of Jake in Jake and the Neverland Pirates from Colin Ford, who originated the role, for the show’s final few seasons.
Cameron Boyce was born May 28, 1999 in Los Angeles. He died July 6, 2019, in Los Angeles.
Entertainment Tonight reported “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” the Boyce family spokesperson told ET. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
“I like to say that I’m bl-ewish, I’m black and I’m Jewish. ” His paternal grandmother, Jo Ann Allen Boyce, was one of the Clinton 12, who integrated Clinton High School in Clinton, TN, a year before Little Rock, AR was desegregated. His mother is of Ashkenazic Jewish descent.
Cameron had hoped to concentrate on his dance career and his charity work, had his health improved. The grieving family has not yet announced what the ongoing medical condition was (nor will we interrupt their sitting Shiva to inquire).
He received the Pioneering Spirit Award at the 9th Annual Thirst Gala for helping raise over $30,000 to build two wells in Swaziland, bringing clean drinking water to communities in the region. He was also a staunch advocate for America’s homeless.
