It is almost impossible to classify Jay and Silent Bob Reboot as anything other than “funny as hell” but in sort of trashy way. Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith are back as Jay and Silent Bob, on a quest to Hollywood to stop the reboot of Bluntman and Chronic from being made.

Pause the Krypton Radio stream using the controller at the upper right while you watch. And, oh, yeah, if you haven’t figured this out by now, this trailer is full of profane language. Make sure your kids – or your boss – has left the room before you hit “play”.

Krypton Radio's TRAILER PARK

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot doesn’t just break the fourth wall. It charges through the fourth wall like the Kool-Aid man driving a tank while stoned out of his mind. Every scene is meticulously handcrafted to yield the highest degree of absurdity possible while still holding together some sense of plot, and it’s always extremely self-aware in ways movies usually aren’t.

The film is also practically a who’s who of Hollywood. It’s as though writer / director Kevin Smith called everybody he knew and said, “hey, I’m makin’ a new movie with F-bombs every 45 seconds. Wanna be in it?”

To which apparently a very large number of them called back and said, “sure, why not, where do I sign?”

The cast list includes a fair number of people who are just in there playing themselves, and a lot of the rest of them are playing Comic-con attendees. This is as self referential as it gets. Here’s the list:

This is going to be one of those films that you will either get it, or you won’t. If you’re not into Comic-Con culture, you’ll be missing some of the context, but most of the jokes will land anyway.

This film is extremely blue, and if you’re not comfortable with that, you won’t like it. That said, for those that are, it looks pretty @#$@ funny.
