Oscar-winning screenwriter and director Guillermo del Toro and will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this month, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced

His star will be at 6918 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Line Store, near the TCL (formerly Grauman’s) Chinese Theater.  The dedication ceremony will be Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at 11:30 a.m.  There is no admission fee to attend the ceremony; tickets are not required.  Hats, sunscreen, and water bottles are recommended.

Del Toro, a Mexican producer, author, and director, makes movies in both Spanish and English. He has filmed projects in Mexico, Canada, and the USA. He directed Blade II, Cronos, Crimson Peak, The Devil’s Backbone, Hellboy, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, The Shape of Water, and Pacific Rim.

Rana Ghadban, president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will be the MC. Guest speakers at the ceremony will be Star Trek reboot director J. J. Abrams and singer/songwriter Lana Del Rey.

For those whose schedules and/or budgets don’t permit them to go to Hollywood on August 6, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will be live streaming the ceremony at www.walkoffame.com.
