Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance gets an action-packed, plot-heavy trailer just a few weeks from release. The prequel to Jim Henson’s 1982 cult classic The Dark Crystal will premiere on Aug. 30, and that’s just a little over two weeks from today!
Set before the events of Henson’s original motion picture, the new 10 episode series tells the story of a rebellion against the Skeksis, led by the Gelflings, when they learn that the Skeksis have been lying to everyone about what happened to the Crystal of Truth. They’re trying to stop a cataclysmic event called The Darkening, and it’s going to be quite an intense ride.
The entire cast of characters is puppets, with no CG characters at all.
Taron Egerton (Rocketman), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), and Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones) star in the main roles, with names like Mark Hamill, Helena Bonham Carter, and Keegan-Michael Key rounding out the secondary cast.
