Season 1 Spoilers Ahead!

Last season left us with a multitude of surprises including the reveal that “supes”, contrary to public perception, are not born with powers. Not only are these superpowered individuals owned by the conglomerate corporation, Vought, but the company manufactures them to be exploited for profit. Of course, we know the “supes” are more than compliant with corporate plans, which gives them fame, fortune and the cover to abuse their abilities. Other plot twists include Seven “supe” members Homelander (Antony Starr) and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher: Shaft, Independence Day Resurgence) going rogue from Vought to create supervillians. And, oh yeah … Becca Butcher (Shantel VanSanten: The Flash series), wife of Billy Butcher (Karl Urban: Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Doom) who was thought to be dead, is in fact alive. And she has a superpowered son whose biological father is Homelander. Now that’s one for Jerry Springer.

Fast forward to Season 2, Billy Butcher and his vigilante crew are deemed enemies of the state with bounties on their heads. To the tune of “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by singer/songwriter Billy Joel, a direct nod to The Boys Season 1, we’re shown outrageous clips full of exploitation, blood spatter, and dark tongue-in-cheek humor that made this series soar so high last year. If that weren’t enough, it appears new “supes” with crazy abilities will be worked into this season’s story. The electrifying ride of The Boys Season 2 is set to premiere on September 4th exclusively on Amazon Prime.
