Actress-dancer Galyn Görg, who starred in Robocop 2 as Angie, succumbed to cancer one day before her birthday. Galyn Görg was born July 15, 1964 in Los Angeles, CA, and died of cancer July 14, 2020 at the age of 55.

Gorg died on July 14, the day before her birthday, according to a Facebook post from her sister. Her death was announced on July 15 via her GoFundMe page. The description on the page said that Gorg had been diagnosed with cancer “throughout her entire body and lungs.” The page reads, “The doctors claimed she only had days maybe a week to live, and after remaining optimistic and praying for a miracle, she has sadly passed.” On July 12, Gorg’s sister wrote on Facebook, “My sister says she wants a miracle, please. Prayers.”

Her geek credentials are extensive. She appeared as a guest in two Star Trek series, as well as both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess Her best-known American relevision role was as Lt. Leora Maxwell in the superhero TV show M.A.N.T.I.S.

In Italy she was best known for being a dancer on Fantastico and the SandraRaimondo Show, but she was Korena in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in the episode The Visitor and Nori in Star Trek: Voyager in the episode Warlord. In the Stargate: SG-1 episode Thor’s Hammer, she played Kendra, a former Goa’uld host. In Hercules, she played Anuket, an Egyptian princess, and in Xena: Warrior Princess she portrayed Helen of Troy. She also appeared on one episode of Disney’s The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage, one episode of Lost, and three episodes of Twin Peaks as Nancy O’Reilly.

Her family released a statement: “Galyn was a beautiful soul who loved life, art, dance and was a phenomenal woman.”
