The Nostromo from Alien, creatures from Men in Black, props from Terminator and more from lots of classic science fiction films are going under the hammer in an upcoming Los Angeles auction.
The original 11–foot Nostromo filming model from Alien (1979) is estimated to sell between $300k – 500k (£240k – 400k) as part of Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on Wednesday 26th August and Thursday 27th August 2020, featuring a collection of film memorabilia worth over $6 million (£4.8 million).

Over 850 unique and original items will be made available to bidders in one of the world’s largest live auctions of film and television memorabilia. Bids can be placed online from anywhere in the world, by phone or in person.
Brandon Alinger, Prop Store COO, commented on the upcoming auction: “Next month’s auction, brings one of the most significant and largest spaceships that we’ve ever handled to the block: the Nostromo from Ridley Scott’s ALIEN (1979). The Nostromo stands among spaceship icons like the Millennium Falcon and the Discovery from 2001, and this is the primary model used throughout filming. It measures a massive 11 feet in length and originally had systems for lighting and CO2 effects. The model was built and filmed in the U.K. and it’s amazing that it still survives today. We’re looking forward to offering this piece along with over 850 props, costumes and models at Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on 26th August 2020 and 27th August 2020.”
