You may have heard of the Grammy Awards, the Academy Awards, or even the Webby Awards, but there’s a new awards show on the block: The Game Awards.

The Game Awards seek to recognize creative and technical excellence in the global video game industry and celebrate the accomplishments of those who change the gaming community for the better. Visit https://thegameawards.com/about for more information about this awards show.

This awards show is admittedly not as new as most folks would think, as it was first established in 2014 by founder, producer and host Geoff Keighley, who has also served as a producer and host of other video game programs.

The Game Awards of this year occurred on December 10th, 2020. The hosts this year were Geoff Keighley and Sydnee Goodman, with lifelong gamer Brie Larsen making a guest host appearance.
