Our server is located in Canada, and as such is licensed through SOCAN via our Canadian division Krypton Media Partners in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada. Since SOCAN has reciprocal royalty agreements with every other performance rights organization in the world, wherever in the world you’re listening to us from, we’re licensed to be heard there.

We’ve been around since 2009, so we’ve had a lot of years to infiltrate pretty much every corner of the Internet. There are lots of ways to listen.  Apart from being the most popular sci-fi station on the planet, SCIFI.radio is the most technologically connected science fiction radio station in the entire world.

SCIFI.radio is on Every Smart Phone and Tablet

Just go to your app store and search for SCIFI.radio, then download the app. It’s that easy, and it’s free!

… and we’re on the Kindle Fire and Roku, too – via TuneIn.

Listen on Discord

To invite the SCIFI.radio Player Bot to your own Discord server, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the following URL: https://discord.com/api/oauth2/authorize?client_id=1219442914740928622&permissions=3148800&scope=bot
  2. Select the server you want to add the bot to from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click ‘Authorize’ to grant the necessary permissions to the bot.

Once the bot is added to your server, make sure to grant it the required permissions to join voice channels and play audio. Use !join to invite it to a voice channel. Only admins can issue playback control commands once you have it set up. This keeps merry little miscreants from messing with it.

Listen via Alexa, Google Home

We are listed with TuneIn, and we have our own Alexa skill as well.

The fact that we’re on TuneIn allows us to be heard via Google Home and Roku devices as well — pretty much any device that supports TuneIn will let you hear us.

Thanks to TuneIn screwing up and losing their safe harbor protections under U.K. law by curating their own content streams instead of just acting as an internet radio and podcast search engine, they can no longer play any non-UK radio stations within the UK, with only a very few exceptions, so you lot are restricted to our phone and tablet apps, web browsers, and the player bot in our Discord channel.

Accessing the Stream Directly

If you’re using Linux, you can access SCIFI.radio via our direct access streams, via XMMS, Amarok, Banshee or other stream players. If your internet connection is slow, you can select either the 96Kb/s or 64Kb/s streams.
