Earth opens a gateway to the afterlife, allowing spirits to roam the earth who want to plug us into a power grid and use us as living batteries even though they have seen every episode of Firefly who derive their sustainance by a bunch of Elvis impersonators but a priest tells them about the God and they are taken in by a kindly old lady who mistakes them for lost children.
