[su_note note_color=”#cae5f9″ radius=”17″]We note with disappointment that the Sad Puppies / Rabid Puppies are once again making a cynical, bitter attempt to hijack the Hugos as they did last year, but with a difference: this year they have stuffed the ballot box not only with their own little-read low-brow work, but garbage entries as well. We sincerely doubt that Space Raptor Butt Invasion is meant as a serious entry, but simply intended to embarrass the Hugo Awards and devalue it.

Of the categories above, no awards are likely for Best Short Story, Best Novelette, or Best Related Work, as they are clearly categories stuffed by Vox Day and his followers, much as an internet troll would do. Last year, the independent members of the World Science Fiction Convention elected No Award rather than be forced to make politically charged choices in these categories.

As we understand it, new rules for nomination are in place that will prevent this sort of thing from happening again in 2017.  [/su_note]
